Day Eighteen

Sorry I haven't  blogged recently. What can I say, I am 10 and I am busy!! It's been going pretty good. I have had a complaint free day here and there, but not two in a row. It is second nature for me to complain."I am human, therefore I complain"(Will Bowen quote).  I have realized that through this challenge I need  an endless supply of braclets because I have broken so many. Also I need a  friend to help me stay on track. I want someone to look on the bright side of things with me. I have asked my brother, Matt to help me and he being the cool guy that he is, has agreeded. Matt  and I have decided to partner up to write these blogs and encourage each other. It would be a good idea to  invite your friends to do the challenge with you.

Still working on two in a row... So close.

Day 13

We're coming up on two weeks of this challenge, and if you've been reading Complaint Free World, you should know this was about the time Will Bowen, the author, had completed one full day of no complaints. So, from today on, I want everyone to write  in when they go a day of not complaining, and write your highest streak of no complaining. For instance, if I go my first day of complaint free, I write in "Yeah!! One day, 24 hours, baby!!" Then when I go on a five day streak, I'll write, "Complaint free for five, and still alive!!" This blog is interactive, I post stories and progress, you write me back. To finish off this blog, I have decided to post my personal streak at the bottom of each page. So for today...

I complained, but every single day I am getting better, and better, and better.

Hey feel free to leave me a comment. Or let me know what day you are on in the challenage.

Day Eleven

There is this story in a Complaint Free World that I've been thinking about for the past few days. It doesn't have a name so I named it "The Ginger Story." It is about Will Bowen's dog Ginger. This guy ran over  Ginger and killed her. When Mr. Bowen  confronted him, the man said these words, "I know I hit your dog, what are you going to do about it?" To this Mr.Bowen said, "Put up your hands and defend yourself, I'm going to kill you!!"  The guy told him he wasn't going to fight him  and if he attacked him, Mr. Bowen would be charged with assault and then the guy turned and walked casually away. You can imagine how angry this would make anyone feel. That night, while in bed struggling with the events of the day, Mr. Bowen  came up with a saying, "Those who hurt are hurting."  I think this is pretty good saying. I mean who could do that to a dog and not care. It makes me sad and mad at the same time to think about all the hurting people in the world. Just remember if  someone's been picking on you or being a jerk, they are probably hurting.

Day Nine

Great news, I got my entire class and the teacher to join the complaint free challenge. Their names are Makayla, Caleb, Elizebeth, and Ms. Tafaney. If you are also joining the challenge I strongly suggest that you do it with your friends/family. It gives you huge advantages in some parts and small disadvantages in other parts. The huge advantages are lots of support and less ear pollution. The small disadvantage is that it is harder not to point out complaints. My friends will be writing from time to time so keep an eye out for them. If you looked at yesterday and noticed I didn’t write I had homework. So if you ever read a day and I haven’t written, that’s the reason. If your having a little bit of trouble just remember this quote I read from a Complaint Free World. "If at first you don’t succeed you're doing about average."

Day Five

361 days left in my challenge. It has been nearly a week, and today I have gone one FULL day of not complaining!! Yeah!! If you have been reading the book I recommended, Complaint Free World, you should of already seen the moments of complaint-be become complaint-free. As I read I realize it  is very interesting that there are so many different scenerios to change actual lives by not complaining. If you have read the "honk if your happy" story, than you can think how differently it would of been if the husband had complained instead of setting up the sign. Although if you have not read it yet, you'll have no idea what I am talking about. What I am trying to get across is that, skipping just one complaint, or changing a negative conversation to positive one, can greatly increase the way people think of you, especially in a first impression.

Day Four

It is the first day of going back to school. I did really great today... until I got out of bed. But on the up-side, my muscles in my wrist and my bracelet got a major workout. You may have already noticed this, but I've been complaining ALOT on this blog. I came up with two ideas, I could either switch blogs instead of bracelets, or I could vow right now never to complain on this blog again. So here it goes, I ,Lance, promise  not to complain on this blog. Maybe this would be easier if I just hibernated for 21 days, but then I'd have to put duck tape on my mouth, so I don't complain in my sleep. Oh drat! There goes that promise.

I am going to start diving into Complaint Free World, I encourage you to join with me.

Day Three

It is crazy cold here and I have been stuck in my house for weeks. Last night my family decides to play some games together. I am winning and my brother keeps messing with me. My Mom says if we don't stop there will be a" consequence."(I really don't like that word) What did I do? Of course we didn't stop so we got a "consequence". My Mom said we have to watch the movie " It's A Wonderful Life" with her. Who punishes their kids like that? I didn't complain, I just asked her to whip me instead.

Have you ever watched that movie? It is in black n white and its a complete chick flick. No gunfights, no car chases and nothing being blown up. What kind of movie is that?!

Anyway two hours letter I have to admit it wasn't the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. It was kinda boring in the beginning, but at the end it got a lot better.

Ok. I still haven't made it a whole day without complaining, but I have to say it has slowed down...a little. I really would like it if you would join me on this challenge. My bro. Matt is in. So why don't you join us?!

Here is a picture of my bro. Matt. So you can see who I am talking about.
He is a happy guy!!

Day Two

Hey, it's the second day of the challenge and yesterday I complained so much that I took off my bracelet. I got frustrated with moving it back and forth. They are right I really do complain a lot. Well I am glad to say I put it back on . This is going to be harder than I thought, but I am stinking it out.I am not a quitter!!

Inspiration

I want to introduce a couple of friends who inspire me. They never complain or whine about anything. They  are my dogs, Sirius and Sarah. Sirius (black lab/terrier) yesterday was givin a muzzle since he chews through everything. He even chewed into a wall. Sarah (yellow lab) got in a dog fight and had to get a few stiches. She has to have a satillite so she does not chew into the wound. Sirius is my dog and Sarah is my brothers. They wrestle every day. They really get in to it. So if your starting today or your 20th day just remember these faces.

Day One

Hey it's  Lance. My mom is making me  read the  book Complaint Free World by:Will Bowen. The idea of the book is to wear a bracelet and each time you complain you move the bracelet to the opposite arm. By doing this you will eventually stop complaining about everything. She says I complain way too much and if I don't participate in the "fun family challenge", I will lose my electronics. I do NOT want that to happen. In the book it says it takes the average person 8 months to go 21 days without complaining and since I am not average she is giving me 12 months. I take this challenage and I am going to blog my way through the year. Why don't you get the book and do it with me. Really how hard could it be?
